Serenity Health is a Wisconsin-based company, providing water fountains, custom fountains, and other relaxation products. As business grew, they wanted to embrace better website design ideas and incorporate a more advanced ecommerce aspect. To complement their new design, they also began a comprehensive internet marketing program.
By 2006, Serenity Health’s original website design had a dated feel that no longer suited the company’s purpose or the tastes of consumers. The internet was quickly advancing and they needed a site that could keep up. Ecreativeworks’ design team came up with an organization that would benefit not only website users but also future SEO. Navigation was expanded to make it easier to find specific water fountain products and include Serenity’s vast array of other relaxation items.
The new design also featured brighter colors that evoked a serene water effect. The updated design also helped to make room for an expanded amount of written content on the site, giving visitors something to read and remember about Serenity Health. A tips and advice center was incorporated as well, truly making the website a ‘one stop shop’ for all water fountain and fountain maintenance or decoration needs.
To handle their ecommerce traffic, a workable shopping cart was necessary. Ecreativeworks developed one that could handle not only the thousands of products Serenity Health carries, but also one that would still enable the search engines to spider the pages and index the site. Other primary considerations were customer usability and efficient management of orders. Serenity’s shopping cart allows customers to log into their account to view their orders and make future shopping on the website easier and faster by remembering important details. There was also some customization done to allow Serenity Health to drop ship their products from multiple locations and also offer multiple shipping rates per product to their customers. To keep up with consumer’s familiarity with online shopping, Ecreativeworks implemented a Froogle-Google Product Base upload and product reviews. To keep customers coming back, Serenity Health has the ability to send out coupons or allow coupon codes to be used during specials and on any featured products.
Organized order management allows Serenity to better process payments and resolve any problems that may occur with the order or product. With their shopping cart taking care of the basic ordering process, Serenity’s team is better able to bring new products to their customers and focus on providing the customer service they’re known for.
With Serenity, Ecreativeworks truly entered into a partnership with the website owner. The team behind Serenity was active and engaged in the process and wanted to make the most of their marketing opportunities. On a site as large as this, it took a detailed plan and commitment to the program to ensure that the internet marketing efforts would be effective. Throughout their program, there was frequent collaboration on content, usability testing, conversion tracking and optimization techniques. This allowed an organized approach to the website’s internet marketing. An XML sitemap was also incorporated to handle the thousands of individual pages on the website and ensure their indexing in the various search engines.
With the explosions in blogs, it was decided that a company blog would benefit Serenity, as their website was not just a place for products, but also one for information and advice on relaxation, but in much greater detail than possible on the website. The blog was a way to provide frequent new content that would be interesting to site visitors and people looking for information on topics like relaxation, feng shui, and water fountains. The blog was a great success and drove a lot of traffic to Serenity Health. Many visitors to Serenity also visited the blog.
Social marketing was another technique Serenity Health embraced. They realized the possibilities that effective social marketing could open up to them and were ready to move forward. Driving traffic from community and topic-oriented sites helped them increase their visibility with consumers interested in the products Serenity sells. Traffic from social marketing websites was a valuable asset in increasing conversions.
Serenity Health’s redesign was a success, both for Ecreativeworks and Serenity Health. Serenity enjoyed increased search engine visibility and traffic, which lead to increased conversions. The new website enabled better customer interaction, and their contributions, like reviews of products and services, enhanced the overall appeal of the site.
